Jones: You'll probably experience temporal and electromagnetic interference. What we don't know is how it might manifest.
Ramse: You're trying to kill him.
Jones: Yes, we are.
太陽フレアがタイムトラベルに影響するかもと警告されたコールたん。
電波障害のようなものなのか、案の定、2043年と2014年を瞬間移動しまくりなことに。安定しないにもほどがある。ただでさえ身体に負担が大きそうなのに大丈夫なのか？コールたんの身を案じてくれるのは今のところ、ラムジー兄ちゃんのみ。
Jones: One more thing. Dr Railly.
Cole: If she sees me, it could change things.
Jones: Catastrophically.It would fracture her timeline. The following year she might never go to the hotel and save your life from your gunshot wound. Do you understand that?
Cole: I got it.
時間軸が既にややこしいことになっている。リバー (@ Doctor Who) みたいにタイムライン書いたノートもって移動しないと絶対覚えてられないぞー！（違）
Ramse: You don't know anything about scavs.
Whitley: I know enough. Bullshit. They're like animals. Living off the weak. Taking what they don't deserve. Like you and Cole.
Ramse: I'm not taking anything from you, buddy. Jones gets her traveler. We get three squares and a roof.
Whitley: Trust me, she gets the better end of the deal.If it was my call, you and Cole would be back out here where you assholes belong buddy.
ウィートリーからどえらく嫌われてるコールたんとラムジー兄ちゃん。ジョーンズに捕まる前の二人の生活ぶりもどんどん気になるところ。
Cassie: I'm the only one who knows.
Jules: Cassie, you need to calm down.
Cassie: We need to stop this.No one can get out.No one can get out, no one.If anyone tries, tell the cops to shoot them.
Jules: Dr Railly, you need a break.
Cassie: No, Jules, listen to me.
Julie: Listen to what? You want me to go outside and shoot people? What are you, insane? What is wrong with you?
このエピソード見るまで、コールたんと再会する前のキャシーがどんな気持ちで過ごしてきたかっていうことを考えていなかった。2年後にパンデミックで人類が滅びるなんて聞かされて平静でいられるわけがないよなぁ。知ったからには止めなきゃと思い詰めただろうし、止められなかったら自分のせいだって思い詰めることになるだろうし。でもさすがに患者さんを撃ち殺してでも外に出してはダメだと言い出したのには驚いた。
Cassie: No! No, you can't just walk in there and murder someone.
Cole: 1 for 7 billion? That math works for me.
と、1話目では簡単に人を殺しちゃダメとコールたんをたしなめていたのに、この変わりよう。精神的にとんでもなく追い詰められた日々を過ごしていたんだなぁと思いつつも、キャシー、怖ぇえという印象もついてしまった。"1人殺すことで70億人が救われるなら..." というコールたんの言葉をキャシーはずっと考え続けていたのかもしれない。
コールたんはどうなんだろう。コールたんはジョーンズにそう説得されて人を殺しに未来から過去へ送り込まれているわけだけど、人を殺すっていう任務をコールたんはどう受け止めていたのかな。ジョーンズからはスカベンジャーだったんだから人殺しも平気だろうと思われていたんだろうけど......。
Pallid Man: Who are you?
Cole: You don't know me. You will.
前回はコールたんがこのおいたんを知らなくて、今回はこのおいたんがコールたんを知らない。その頬キズはここでついたんでしたか。
Henri: I never thought that I would come back here, but now I have nowhere else to go.
Cole: They're gonna keep hunting you.
Henr: Let them try.
Cole: They'll find you. They'll hurt you. They'll do whatever they have to to make you tell them how to find that lab.
Henr: Somewhere in the world there's a dark comer needs a doctor. There always is.
Cole: You'll never make it off this island.You'll never make it out of here.
ここでコールたんが彼を殺す必要はなかったんじゃないかと思うんだけど...。 アンリさん、いい人だったのに。それでなくても、あの状況下ではお医者さんはいくらいても足りないぐらい、とっても貴重な人材なのに。まぁ、もしコールたんが手を下さなくても確かに結局はあのおいたんに殺される羽目になったのかもだけど...。
Jones: Remember your mission. Everything else is secondary. Everyone you see is already dead.
この時もコールたん、カタリーナが言い聞かせていたこの言葉を思い出してたのかなぁと思うとなんか辛い。
Cassie: You saw me there, didn't you?
Cole: Yeah.I stayed away. I had to follow Henri without you there. Left just after the quarantine ended.
Cassie: That was you outside the tents that night.The lights I was wrong about the plague. People could have died because of me.
Cole: But they didn't.Cassie: It was my fault. I'm the one who sent him to get those meds. Henri was a good man. Tell me what happened to him.
Cole: After he told me about the Night Room, we got separated. I splintered before I could find him again. I never saw who killed him.
嘘つきコールたん。キャシーに言えないコールたんが切なくもあり。（コールたん、キャシーがアンリさんと一夜を共にするぐらい意気投合しちゃってたって知らないわけだけど、もし知ってたら殺せなかったんじゃないかな。それでも引き金を引いたかな...）
Ramse: Leaving the West 7, that's not an easy thing to do.
Cole: We did it.
Ramse: She's not us.Cole: He doesn't have the numbers for an attack.
Ramse: He may not have had them then, but how many marauders has he picked up by now? If he finds out about the facility, the West 7 will pick us clean, just like everywhere else.
で、この二人はどのくらいの期間ウエスト7ですごしたんだろうとそこはかとなく気になる。
MAX: I found shelter and food and water and power. And you won't believe what else.I found Cole.
